Snake charmers, I tell you. Nike can take just about any product, especially their signature sneakers, and manage to weave a story into that which ends up making total sense. They really took a mundane element of Kevin Durant’s early basketball training and created a magical story to go along with it, ending up with the ‘Hunt’s Hill Night’ version of the new KD 8 in shades of green and gray that draw from the landscape. I don’t need a storyline for these though because I’m already a fan of the model. Yet, it’s still cool that the Swoosh can still woo us with these little mind games.
The KD 8 ‘Hunt’s Hill Night’ releases on Sept. 2 at Nike Basketball retailers. Check out snaps of the shoes below and hear Durant talk about the mythical hill.
