File this purchase under impulse buys. The first thing I noticed out the box was the swoosh. In pics it looks like a subdued tiger stripe pattern, but in person it looked rather ashy. Since most of the shoe is matte anyway, a glossier swoosh would have looked better in my opinion. But they’re way comfier than the original Lebron 11s, albeit with a much thinner upper. There’s also a trade off in responsiveness. The lows ditched the Lunarlon and went with Zoom Air for a mad cushy ride.
Other than the swoosh, the rest of the shoe is pulled off well. While I could have done without the tie-dyed sockliner, I appreciate the addition of a small amount of bright colors. Hopefully this is a sign of more gum soled Nike Basketball releases in the near future. For those who’ve got the cash to spare, these are still available pretty much anywhere except Nike’s website. Finish Line still has a few in scattered sizes.
